A Place Like This is an intimate documentary by filmmaker Badoor Jbara, exploring love, identity, and belonging through her personal journey as a Palestinian citizen of Israel. The film traces her relationship with her husband Mustafa, their struggles to find a place in societies that label and exclude them, and the transformative moment of becoming parents during a time of war. Through pregnancy, political upheaval, and the decision to leave their homeland in search of a better future for their daughter, the film confronts questions of identity, alienation, and hope. Both deeply personal and universally resonant, it reflects the collective experience of Arab citizens in Israel—caught between cultures and longing for a place to truly belong.
